Privacy Policy
Effective June 13, 2026. itethered.com is published by I Am Easy to Use LLC (“itethered,” “we,” “us”).
The short version
There are no accounts and no login here. We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't run advertising or ad-tracking. We use Google Analytics to understand traffic, a form provider to deliver messages you choose to send us, and standard hosting that keeps security logs. If you contact us, you're emailing or texting a real person. That's the whole shape of it; the detail is below.
1.Who this covers
This policy applies to itethered.com and the tools on it. The site is operated by I Am Easy to Use LLC. It is a public, editorial publication: every page is open, and you do not create an account or password to read or use it.
2.Information you give us
You share information only when you choose to:
- Forms. When you use a contact or “share your story” form, you may provide your name, email, and message. Forms are delivered through Formspree, which passes the submission to our inbox.
- Direct contact. When you email, call, or text the line on the site, we receive whatever you send (your message, your email address or phone number).
- Uploads. If you upload a file, it is stored on Vercel Blob and may be served from a public URL. Don't upload anything you would not want stored or seen.
- The tether tool. Information you enter into the tether-scan tool is sent to an AI model (Anthropic's Claude) to generate a response. Treat anything you type there as something a third-party AI service will process.
- Public walls. Features like the community wall are anonymous by design — but anything you type into a public space is public, so don't include details you want kept private.
3.Information collected automatically
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4, which sets cookies and collects standard analytics data: pages viewed, referring links, approximate location (derived from IP), and device/browser type. We use it in aggregate to understand what people read.
- Hosting logs. Our host, Vercel, processes standard request data — including IP address, timestamp, and user agent — to serve and secure the site.
- Rate limiting. To prevent abuse, the site temporarily uses your IP address in memory to count recent requests. This is transient and is not written to a long-term database by us.
4.Cookies & analytics choices
The main cookies on this site come from Google Analytics. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on, or use a browser/extension that limits tracking. The site works fine without analytics cookies.
5.How we use information
- To respond to you when you reach out, and to follow up on stories or tips.
- To operate, maintain, and secure the site, and to prevent abuse.
- To understand, in aggregate, what readers find useful.
- To publish what you knowingly submit for publication (see the Terms).
6.The services we rely on
We keep the stack small and name it plainly. These providers process limited data on our behalf:
- Vercel — hosting, request logs, and file storage (Vercel Blob).
- Google Analytics — traffic measurement.
- Formspree — delivery of form submissions to our inbox.
- Anthropic (Claude) — processes text you submit to the tether tool to produce a response.
Each has its own privacy practices. We don't control how third-party providers handle data once it reaches them.
7.What we don't do
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We don't run an advertising network. We share information only with the providers above, when required by law, or when necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of people or the publication.
8.Retention
Messages and emails are kept as long as needed to correspond with you and keep a record of the exchange. Uploaded files remain on Vercel Blob until removed. Analytics data is retained according to Google's settings. Rate-limit counts are ephemeral. You can ask us to delete information you sent us (see below), and we will unless we're required to keep it.
9.Your choices and rights
You can email michael@itethered.comto ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR or the CCPA), you may have additional rights — and we'll honor reasonable requests regardless of where you are. You can opt out of analytics at any time using the options in Section 4.
10.Sensitive topics & minors
itethered covers mental health and emotional dependency. Nothing here is medical advice, and the forms are not a crisis line — if you need help now, see the help desk. The site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll remove it.
11.Security
We use sensible protections — per-IP rate limiting, an upload type-and-size allowlist, and an SSRF-safe outbound fetcher — but no website can promise perfect security. Send sensitive information at your own discretion.
12.Where this is operated
The site is operated from the United States. If you use it from elsewhere, your information is processed in the U.S. and other countries where our providers operate.
13.Changes
We may update this policy. When we do, we'll change the effective date at the top. Material changes will be reflected here on the page.
14.Contact
