Terms of Use

Effective June 13, 2026. An agreement between you and I Am Easy to Use LLC, which publishes itethered.com (“itethered,” “we,” “us”).

1.Acceptance

By accessing or using itethered.com, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. There are no accounts here; using the site is your acceptance.

2.What itethered is

itethered is an independent editorial publication — a newsroom — covering AI emotional dependency and the condition it named, tethered. The site is free and public. We may change, add, or remove content and features at any time.

3.Not medical, legal, or professional advice

Everything here is journalism and opinion. It is notmedical, psychological, legal, or financial advice, and it is not a substitute for a professional who knows your situation. Nothing on this site creates a clinician–patient or any other professional relationship.

4.Editorial content

We work to be accurate and to cite real, published sources, but content is provided “as is.” Opinions belong to their authors. Reporting can be updated or corrected; the live version on the site is the current one.

5.What you send us

When you submit a story, message, file, or post to a public space on the site, the following applies:

You confirm you have the right to share it, and that it is yours to share.
You grant I Am Easy to Use LLC a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, edit, excerpt, publish, and display your submission in connection with the publication. This is a newsroom — letters and stories may be published, in whole or in part, sometimes with editing for length or clarity.
You will not submit anything unlawful, infringing, defamatory, hateful, harassing, or that exposes someone else's private information without their consent.
We may decline, edit, remove, or take down any submission at our discretion.

If you want something kept off the record, say so when you send it, and we'll honor a reasonable request.

6.Acceptable use

You agree not to:

misuse the upload, tether, or other tools, or attempt to overload, scrape, or disrupt the site;
circumvent rate limits, security controls, or access restrictions;
probe, attack, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site or its systems;
upload malware, or content you have no right to share;
use the site to harass, threaten, or harm others.

The interactive tools are rate-limited and provided for ordinary, good-faith use.

7.Intellectual property

The site's name, design, code, and original written and visual content are owned by I Am Easy to Use LLC, except for material we quote or attribute to others and submissions you retain rights to. You may quote and link to our work with attribution, consistent with fair use and ordinary journalistic practice. You may not republish whole pieces wholesale, present our work as your own, or use the itethered name in a way that implies endorsement.

8.Links to other sites

We link to outside sources and other sites. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content, accuracy, or practices.

9.Disclaimers

The site and its tools are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

10.Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, I Am Easy to Use LLC and anyone associated with it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of — or inability to use — the site, its content, or its tools, even if advised of the possibility. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greatest extent the law allows.

11.Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless I Am Easy to Use LLC from claims and costs arising out of your misuse of the site or your submissions, to the extent permitted by law.

12.Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which I Am Easy to Use LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be brought in the courts located there.

13.Changes

We may update these Terms. When we do, we'll change the effective date above. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
